Tesco School Gardens

Tesco School Gardens

Welcome

Carrots

Your child's school is participating in the Tesco School Gardens Programme.

By providing a hands on approach on how to grow a variety of different fruits and vegetables we hope that your child will learn to develop an understanding and appreciation of where food comes from.

The Tesco School Gardens programme provided by Tesco is designed to be as fun and interactive as possible. The programme has also been designed in line with the national curriculum to provide an educational benefit.

What is Tesco School Gardens?

Through a fun and interactive programme of growing their own fruit and vegetables, your child will be educated on how food is produced and what is grown in Britain. The programme also helps to develop your child's practical cooking skills and knowledge of healthy eating through recipe cards which are developed to work alongside the food they grow within the school.

How can I bring the Tesco School Gardens programme to my home?

Helping to fuel your childs' enthusiasm in growing their own fruits and vegetables at home is easy, and doesn't always require large areas of land or time! This section of the website is dedicated to you as parents and gives you ideas on how you can set up your own garden to grow your own foods. The website includes information on planning your garden, friends and foes in your garden, ideas on growing various crops indoors and also lists various food related events that are happening in your area.
